Our place wasn't empty for long. Before the movers even finished taking our things out, the furniture rental company showed up and started bringing things in. Before I knew it, my home had been turned into one of those lovely Marriott rooms.....all I needed were a few funky pictures on the walls. Ruby said it best when she walked in. "I don't like all this weird stuff."

Wednesday, February 20th, the truck showed up with the 40 foot container that would carry our things, including our van to Switzerland. It was huge and in less than 2 hours they had it packed full. After loading our van on, they drove it up to Long Beach where it was loaded on a ship. We are crossing our fingers that everything gets there in one piece. I never was a fan of the movie "Titanic". I double checked, and ocean-going vessels don't sink too often these days. Unfortunately, when the seas get real rough, they start tossing containers overboard to save the ship. Ah nuts!

Wednesday afternoon Pete got a call letting us know that the movers were coming on Friday to start packing us up. At 8 am sharp, three eager men with a giant truck showed up ready to go. After less than an hour, with Ruby and a cranky Henry in tow, I escaped. Luckily for me, my friend Audra agreed to take Ruby and with my sister Janet out of town, I had a quiet place to nap Henry.
By 1pm they had packed up 40% of our things and called it a day, promising to be back bright and early on Tuesday. The good news: we had all weekend long to work. The bad news: Pete is going to Switzerland tomorrow night for almost a week. Yikes!
