A highlight for Alex and Henry was definitely St. Mark's Square. Although they were a little timid at first, by the end they were loving all the pigeons. Not us girls. You will notice in the pictures below tht Ruby and I steered clear of the flying rats. Yuck!

A really fun part of our trip was the addition of our friends, Sarah and Tom, and their two boys, James and Sam. We stayed in the same hotel and had fun exploring Venice together. It was nice to have adults to visit with at night and the kids loved having friends around. When I asked Ruby what her favorite part of Venice was she said, "Playing with Sam and James". It was also nice not to have to ask strangers to take our picture.
"I don't know if I like this..."
"What if they bite me?"
"OK, this is fun"
"Yikes! Too many."
"Get the birds, get the birds, get the birds...."
