Vienna was an amazing city. When my sister April chose Vienna for school I couldn't figure out why. Now I realize how much there is to see. I felt like even though we covered so much of the city, there was definitely a lot more to be explored.

This is picture of St. Stephens I got off the Internet. You can see what it looked like at a better time.
When we visited it was a little rainy and parts of it were being refurbished
The tiles on the roof are really cool. The roof was destroyed during World War II and then rebuilt in 1952. Locals who donated to the reconstruction each "own" one of the ceramic tiles.
St. Peter's Church-the oldest Christian sacred site in Vienna

Pete with the Albertina Museum in the background
The Opera House

We tried to follow some hints in our Rick Steve's book to get opera tickets. Unfortunately, it was sold out. We did catch a glimpse on the large screen in front of the Opera House though.
Pete with his friend and colleague Morgan who is the one who brought us on board at Edwards
Josefsplatz
Fountain in Michaelerplatz

The entrance to the Hofburg Imperial Palace
Pete standing in the In der Burg square
Emperor Franz II (father-in-law of Napoleon)

The Imperial Apartments (the city version of what we saw at Schonbrunn)
The New Palace Museums
The Rathaus (fancy city hall) shooting over the trees
I thought it was super creative to have these flowers blooming in the shape of a treble clef...especially with Mozart in the background

I am so insanely jealous of your trip to Vienna! I love that city! I am happy that you got a chance to visit. Somehow, we'll have to plan a trip over there so that you guys can show us around Switzerland, and we can take you to some of the other sites in Austria. Did you try the Sacher Torte in Vienna? If not, one more reason for us to come visit! Enjoy your European adventures, you will miss them when you're back in the states.
