Speeding through November

I have been a little absent from the computer of late. Easy explanation: after a long life (in computer years), our faithful laptop died. Fortunately, we didn't lose anything important because Pete is great at backing things up. Unfortunately, we live in Switzerland. Although we did look at buying a new one over here (the prices weren't too bad) we realized that we couldn't live with a European keyboard. For those of you who may not know, on a European keyboard the "z" and the "y" are swapped. We caught a lucky break when one of Pete's friends from work was headed over here and helped us out. We didn't have enough time to purchase one online, so he was nice enough to go to the store and buy one. More details than you probably wanted, but here we are with a new computer that I have been trying to figure out.

Besides the computer thing, November was a month spent at home. After two months of traveling, we took a break and tried to keep up with the everyday routine. We have enjoyed a beautiful fall with milder temperatures than last year. There has been a lot of rain and the kids are dying for snow. At this point, I have relented and agree that snow would be nice. There's not much to comment on the following pictures. Just some we took on a Sunday morning walk outside of our village.

I should probably explain the next few pictures. All along our walk there were bunkers that were built during WWII in case Switzerland was invaded. You can see where soldiers placed their guns. Alex walked around back to find the door. I'm always amazed to see things like this which are a reminder that the world hasn't always been how I've known it.
